A Unique Time-Capsule ... For Sale !

UPDATE:

My Jaguar will be shown at the fair ´Retro Classics Essen´ in Germany

April  8th - 12th 2026 - in hall 6.

Welcome  !

The first called Mark X was the final model in the era of the 'Big Jaguars' built from 1962 till 1970.  In 1965 it was batched newly 420G also called the 'Big Gee' ... even its still a miracle what the 'G' is really standing for: Great or Grand or Georgious? Browns Lane never had an answer on this question. In 2007-2008 we searched nearly two years and watched up to twentyfive MK-X/420G to find 'the only one' and I felt instantly in love with this highly authentic and original example. My lefthand-drive Jaguar is a late production of 1969 with first registration in Stockholm Sweden. Quiet overall in its first layer of paint (just the rear door left not). The rare solid colour 'Light Blue' shows a unique and charming wear of age. Same with the rich leather interior, carpets, ceiling, wooden dashboard etc. Each detail as it came out of Browns Lane factory in 1969; including a non-assembled leaping cat on the bonnet. For me a very rare detail! By the way ... all specificatios are ´matching numbers´ as date of delivery.

This Big Cat is free  of serious rust and was never restored. In 17years of my ownership the Jaguar was mantained professionally with many new parts. I spent big efforts to keep the orignal look even we restored a lot of technical parts. The brake servo and master-brake-cylinder are inside fully new ... but outside kept in its wear of age. Thats my way to keep the car most authentic as it is possible. Everything is working as it should (except of vacuum-operated heatingregulation) and  the Jag is ready for any longdistance trip all over Europe.

Original mileage of 68921kms is fully documented by swedish road-test since 1969.

First registration in mid of 1969 in SE - Stockholm.

Motor capacity 4235ccm with 265 PS.

Equipped with triple SU-carburettors (identical power like an E-type 4.2L)

Two full and original sets of keys, one of them  in the original leather wallet.

Original car-pocket with manual book and further manufacturer papers.

Period matching Michelin XWX tires in its corret size.

In my ownership I spent approx 10.000euros on the car. All invoices are present. The main jobs:

Both fuel pumps, fuel sender-unit, head gasket, all ventiles hardened for lead-free petrol, sparkling plugs, exhaust complete, brake disc and pads, brake hoses, bushings and rods, all all fluids, etc

This unique authentic Jaguar  is sensibly  priced at

--- 42.420 Euro ---

in condition as is  and without a garantee.

This Jaguar is legal registered  in Germany with official german car documents and a valid german road test (TÜV).

My Jaguar is offered by me as a private person:   Mr Carl Buening - Muenster - Germany - email:  cabcab@t-online.de

A full history ...

First registration in Stockholm/Sweden by Mr Forsberg, a medical doctor. After four years he overtook the Jaguar to his summerhouse at countryside Sweden and he drove it there just from may till september without any snow/ice/salty roads. The garage was kept alltime warm for the  420G. In 1997 he died and his wife passed the car to a close friend of them. Unfortunately Mr Lindberg got ill (loss of brain) and his family was forced to sell the Jaguar to a third owner. Mr Sederowsky is a friendly-crazy guy in Koeping who runs an own beer-brewery. After some years he advertized in 2008 this great kept Jaguar and on my trip to Sweden I fell immediatly in love with its unique authentic condition. In 2013 I made a big trip of 3500kms to Sweden to visit all previos owners. It was an honour to join the first owners wife,  Mrs Forsberg, and we had a great time at her summerhouse where the Jaguar was kept approx 25years. Passing a lot of rich nature and historic castles I met Mr Lindberg and Mr Sederowsky, too. This was a great history-tour in its homeland Sweden!  I am since 2008 the proud owner and I am loving all aspects of this great Jaguar...

Matching numbers ...

In 2011 and 2012 myself travelled twice to Great Britain  to explore the roots of my Jaguar. Weeks ahead I made an appointement with the Jaguar Heritage Trust and it was an honour to see the original book of records with the handwritten notices of my personal example G1D77837BW including all its specifications. So I really could underline: Matching numbers of motor, gearbox and ratio of rear axle.  Same year I joined a proud event in Great Britain celebrating 50-ties Birthday of Jaguar Mk10 . There were up to 45 Jaguars Mk10 3.8/4.2 and 420G present. Very impressing and I guess never before/again so many Big Cats at one time / one place. By the way my Big Gee was the only one in ´solid light blue´ and without  the leaping cat on the bonnet. The journeys were a pleasure to drive with its hugh comfort beside its sporty charactere.

Now it's time to overhand this magnificient piece of car culture to someone who loves it as I did (and still do). The Jag is located in northern Germany and I am offering a warm welcome to everyone who wants to get in touch with this time-capsule. Looking forward greeting you in my hometown Muenster ...
